SOS Børnebyerne
Project and Compliance Manager
SOS Children's Villages Denmark is looking for an experienced project manager for our institutional grants, to support implementation of projects and to ensure compliance with donor requirements.
SOS Children's Villages, founded in 1949, is the world's largest non-governmental organization focused on supporting children and young people without parental care, or at risk of losing it. Locally led, we work in more than 130 countries and territories to strengthen families who are under pressure so they can stay together. When this is not in the best interest of a child or young person, we work with a range of care options, including foster care and family like care according to the unique needs.
Together with partners, donors, communities, children, young people, and families, we enable children to grow up with the bonds they need to develop and become their strongest selves. We speak up for children's rights and advocate for change so all children can grow up in a supportive environment.
SOS Children’s Villages Denmark is one of Denmark’s largest privately funded child rights organizations. Over recent years, our Danish office has grown, and we are implementing increasingly larger institutionally funded programmes with partners primarily in East Africa. Therefore, we are looking for a skilled Project Manager with strong donor compliance skills, to join our international team.
As our new colleague, you will be part of the team in our international program department with nine full-time employees, two controllers and two student assistants. You will join a dynamic and dedicated team with high work spirit and ethics, in an informal and positive work environment. You will play an important role in the day-to-day management of projects and support the development of new applications to institutional funds together with relevant colleagues.
You will provide technical advice to colleagues in compliance matters. This is mainly related to donor rules and may also include federal SOS statutes and national law. You will work closely with our local and international colleagues on our largest programs primarily in East Africa funded by Danida and other institutional donors.

  • Relevant master’s degree.

  • Documented experience with grant management from an international development organization or other relevant organizations.
  • Documented experience with acquisition from institutional donors.

  • Knowledge of working with a human rights-based approach (HRBA).
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Organized and structured.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.

  • Accustomed to working at all levels in an international environment.
We offer:
  • A meaningful job in an organization that values a good working environment and prioritises personal and professional development of its employees.
